At our training day this past Friday, we looked at how the horse shifts its weight in walk and the effect this has on the rider’s pelvis in Hippotherapy. Our volunteers had the chance to experience this sensation and to sit in some of the different therapeutic positions we use on Murphy. We then discussed how children develop functional motor skills and how we use this knowledge to help our riders while using these different positions.
